As artificial intelligence advances rapidly, it’s being put to use in everyday life in remarkable ways. To minimize security blind spots, the Government Sejong Complex Sports Center, a facility frequented by people of all ages, has introduced cutting-edge AI technology in its pool and gym areas.

At the sound of a cry for help, an alert immediately pops up on the control room screen.

The system monitors blind spots, such as locker rooms and restrooms, by detecting and analyzing safety-related sounds. It differentiates between male and female voices, detects sounds like glass breaking, and identifies forceful door knocks.

This system is now installed and operating at the Government Sejong Complex Sports Center, which sees up to one million visitors annually.

“Safety incidents frequently occur in areas that can’t be constantly monitored, especially in facilities catering to all ages. By employing AI-based safety technology, we aim to enhance incident prevention across these spaces.”

The Multifunctional Administrative City Construction Agency plans to begin full implementation after a trial run, expanding the application of this technology to more areas for enhanced safety.
